Punta Cana, La Altagracia. -The President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, together with the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, officially opened the Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange (DATE), in which several agreements were signed and the groundbreaking for a new hotel was given.
Minister Collado reported that the signed agreements aim to strengthen the arrival of tourists to Quisqueya from Canada during the summer and the month of December.
The agreements were signed by the Minister of Tourism, in the presence of the President of the Republic, with Renee Boisvert, Vice President of AirTransat Products; Dina Berdolo, from Air Canada vacations and Eric Rodríguez from Sonwing.
He stated that the main strategy of these alliances is to recover the Canadian market and that the signal that President Luis Abinader is giving, witnessing the signing of the agreements, with each reopening of a hotel, is the key to the success of the recovery of the tourism in the Dominican Republic.
Renee Boisvert said that the new promotional campaign will help tour operators to better promote the destination. Meanwhile, Eric Rodríguez pointed out that Sonwing has always been a company that bets on the Dominican Republic, not only with flights and tourists, but also with properties and receptives, "we want to continue growing not only in Punta Cana and Puerto Plata, but also, in other destinations in the country,” he specified.
Likewise, Expedia Group recognized the Dominican Republic as "Best Marketing Campaign in Latin America."
